Description

iTrip is a large family of products with a distinguished heritage. All iTrips send your music wirelessly to your FM radio so you can listen through your own speakers.

We call this particular one â??autoâ? because it gets its power from your vehicleâ?TMs 12 volt accessory outlet or cigarette lighter. And we call it â??universalâ? because it works with almost any portable audio device that has a standard 1/8â? headphone jack (whether CD, MP3, cassette, or, yes, iPod).

And the â??Plusâ? in the name of this iTrip model refers to its ability to charge a portable player by means of a built-in USB port. (Check your player's documentation for charging capability.)

Plug in your playerâ?TMs USB charging cable. Not only do you get to listen to your tunes while youâ?TMre traveling, you arrive with a fully-charged player.

5BEST SOUND PERFECT TRANSMISSION- change to international mode  Apr 21, 2010 By P. Catlin "fm trans"
the clearest frequency to transmit on is 87.9. However this station is only available while the device is in international mode. Customer support will not tell you how to change the device into international BUT I WILL. Hold down the + and - button for about 20 seconds. 'US" will flash in the upper left corner. Now press the + button until you see 'intl'. Now the device will unlock ALL frequencies 87.7 - 107.9. Use 87.9 or 87.7 for best reception. Also try changing from LX to DX (stereo to mono) because DX (mono) seems to give off a stronger signal without compromising sound. your welcome.

4Works Good for Me  Aug 28, 2009 By Glen J
After reading other reviews, I was worried this wouldn't work well for us. But it does just fine.
Used it with Zune, iPod and iPhone without a hitch. Around town, a selected preset works the best and avoids re-tuning. On the road, click the button once when you encounter static or interference, and you are in the clear.
A hard wired connx would be better; this is a good second option.

2Doesn't work with Motorola Droid  Mar 11, 2010 By J. Philip "Joel"
Got this item to charge and play music on my Droid. However, it appears to have some issues with charging the Droid. It will start charging the unit for a few seconds or even minutes and then stop (even if the Droid isn't anywhere close to fully charged). The FM radio component seems to work well though, so I'm using it, but it's annoying of course to plug in both a separate car charger and the iTrip. Griffin's tech support has been helpful and quickly got me a replacement unit to try, but it has the same issue. I would only recommend this with the Droid if you are aware that the charging aspect of the iTrip may not work with it.

5WOW  Jul 01, 2009 By Michael J. Johnson
Finally a FM transmitter that is worth something....the sounds that came out were really clear, the range was good (my antenna is on the front of the car), and the smartscan worked great so that i could keep my eyes on the road for the most part....and the USB charger? great idea. i don't think you could do better for the price.

4Really Good Transmitter although...  Aug 07, 2009 By Joel Castellanos "JC777"
This FM Transmitter is really good although, most transmitters are not that great due to the low frequency. Keep in mind when you purchase this type of transmitter you are getting a low frequency transmitter. This one works quite well snd scans pretty ok when it begins to get static. Another good thing is that you can also choose channels manually so you are not stuck to just choosing from a few stations (like previous transmitters I have purchased). Overall, for what it is this transmitter is one of the best you will find for your everyday MP3's. For I-Phone & I-Pod stick to products made specifically... and...oh yeah...read the reviews;-)
