Dangerous, caught on fire! Sep 16, 2011 By Leah C. Banks "LC Banks"
I received this charger a couple weeks ago and used it about 4 or 5 times. I noticed it would only charge if the red light was on, and that the light would only go on if I twisted it a certain way in the charging port. This was kind of annoying, but no big deal. It was also hard to remove the charger from my phone (it would get stuck on 1 side), but again, not a big deal.

Here's the big problem: it caught on fire. No, you didn't misread that. I was driving last night and I noticed the light had gone off so I twisted it (gently) a little and felt something snap. I saw something bright yellow out of the corner of my eye. I looked closer as it started glowing brighter and realized that there was a flame within the charger! I yanked it out by the cord and melted pieces of plastic and hot metal came flying out everywhere. I smelled smoke and melting plastic and pulled over immediately. This all happened within 4 seconds. I can't imagine how bad it could have been had I not pulled it out as fast as I had, and thank goodness I wasn't on the freeway or anything. After that, I spent 15 minutes searching my car for all of the broken and burned pieces and found most of them (4 pieces total). I was afraid some pieces still remained in the port, but luckily they had all come out. I'm guessing that when it broke (again, I wasn't forcing it or anything when this happened) the coil that is within the plastic sheath had come in contact with the electrical contacts and this caused it to short circuit and ignite the plastic. Very scary, but I'm really lucky it wasn't worse.

Amazon has been very understanding and let me know that I should receive a refund within a few days. Amazon or the seller was not the problem, this product was.

Originally bought it for a bargain price. IPhone charges but not at a rate you'd expect and I was OK with that. But less than 50 days after I bought this, the charger stopped working. I contacted the seller customer support but got a standard 30-day warranty reply.

My advice : Stick with well known brands rather than going cheap! Trust me, it pays off in the long run.

You get what you pay for. This charger works great but the quality of the product is lower. I've had mine for a month now and it still works great.

I purchased it about 2 month ago, but charger labeled for 3gs, not for Iphone 4.
So I left a mention about it. Recently, the seller contacted me and
they said if I want, they'll send a correct one or refund it.
So I really appriciate it.
It works well.
I recommend this product!!

Wow... what a great deal! I've only used it several times since I received it but it has done the job each of those times. I highly recommend this product, especially for the price. You can't beat it. I paid more for the shipping than I did for the actual product. :o)
