Received this today. This stand is quite attractive and I ordered it to use my iPhone on my desk. I can use it as iPod and charge at the same time. As indicated in the product description, the cable is not included. Was able to quickly set up my iPhone 4 in the stand with the bumper case on it - and easily connect to the charging cable. Great product. Plenty sturdy for my usage.

This product is a plastic holder for your iPhone/iPod chord. In other words, you still plug your device into the same chord you've been using; the only difference is that this piece of plastic holds it upright. Unlike an actual dock, there is no output jack for speakers.

If honest, it would be marketed only as a "stand" or "holder," not a dock.

Looking back, I don't remember why I thought this would be a useful item. It looks very nice but that is about it. You pull the regular charging cable into the stand, and then connect your phone. Problem is, it doesn't weigh much and you have to use both hands to get the phone out of the cradle. I am now going to buy something a little more robust, I will keep this in the office as my emergency charger.
