4Cool Docking Station That's iPhone 3Gs - Compatible After All  Jan 02, 2010 By Smart Shopper "davis•hunt"
This was our first docking station, and I was looking for something that sounded good and looked great, too. I didn't want anything tacky and large, since I'm funny about the way things look. I bought this dock for my sons, who have basic iPod Shuffles. Although they cannot charge them on this unit, there is none, according to Apple, that both charges and plays for the basic Shuffle; perhaps Apple will work on that next. Anyway, we've found it was a good purchase, because my boys can still play their music, by plugging it in, and I can charge and play my iPhone 3Gs; this was an added bonus, since I had read online that the iPhone was incompatible. Now, there is an error message that pops up, when I dock my iPhone, but you simply click "ignore" and use it anyway. (NOTE: I was given that advice by the manufacturer, and it has proven to be OK) The pipe charges and plays wonderfully, and the remote is very handy, though it can't be used at great distances. And, yes, the remote works when my phone is docked! : ) We're very pleased.

5great little dock  Jan 30, 2010 By marlene johnson "music hound"
i purchased 'the pipe' for use in my newly remodeled bathroom ~ needed good sound for the long hot baths ~ i needed something that would fit on a small shelf ~ everything else i was looking at was way to expensive ~ this pipe takes up very little room ~ i am very impressed with the quality of the sound from this very small docking station as well ~ the remote is very easy to use ~ it also has the option of being plug in or battery operated ~ so it is very portable ~ i believe i will be giving more of these for gifts this year ~ i would highly recommend this item to anyone who enjoys their music ~

4Don't Believe Them!  Apr 02, 2010 By R. Callaway "LifelongCargo"
This is an awesome device; works really well, great sound, nice and easy to use remote.

Don't believe it when they say it works for iPhones though! While your iPhone will work with this device it requires that you put it in "Airplane" mode. If you don't turn off the wireless/celular radio, you will be listening to electronic interference for 3-5 seconds about twice a minute. Otherwise it works great but no radio on your iPhone means it's just an iPod. No calls, no texts, no Pandora.

Note: There is an auxilary 3.5 mm jack on the back. You could connect your iPhone using that, but then you lose the ability to use the remote and charge your phone while listening.

5You want portable?  Dec 22, 2009 By Payneful Reviews "DP"
Look this won't put out the quality sound that a Soundock, Zepp, HK Go + Play or Geneva Model S will but for the size it is great! I just throw the very small Skullcandy (with adaptor) and my nano into my Tom Bihn Cafe Bag and my music follows me where ever I go. Yes, it uses batteries but sounds better plugged in. Also the bass is a little better if it is placed closer to a wall. I have heard so many small docks that just suck and I was not expecting that much from this little pipe. I took it out, plugged it in to the wall, plugged in my older nano and then....WOW! Of course, due to its size, it lacks a real heavy bass but the sound is well balanced, the pipe is very portable and I highly recommend it.

Update: Forgot to mention the Remote...better than any Bose has ever put out. Really easy to use but you have to be pretty close to the unit. That's all!

5Wow.  Mar 01, 2010 By bdgilfry@wildchildpublishing.com "Editor"
Add a subwoofer and you've got hi fi. This little guy is amazing, and plays at a decent level without distortion.
